Erästely Canoe & Outdoors is a nature tourism company based in Lieksa North Karelia Finland. The company has been operating for several decades on the Jongunjoki River in Lieksa. Since 2020, our base has been located in Lieksa. From our new headquarters, it is easy to access the stunning natural destinations throughout North Karelia, with a focus on the Lieksa and Nurmes areas.
The main products of the company during the summer season are canoe and kayak rentals and guided canoeing trips.
We have suitable canoeing equipment for both river and whitewater adventures, as well as more tranquil canoeing trips on the lake. We have plenty of canoes and kayaks to accommodate even a full bus group.
During the winter season, we offer snowshoe rentals and also organize snowshoeing trips. Ice fishing is dear to our hearts; you can join us to catch fish on ice fishing trips and see what winter fishing with nets under the ice is like.
We provide transportation services to customers and can deliver rental equipment to any desired location. Although our base is located in Lieksa, the rental equipment can easily be transported to the other side of Finland if needed.

We have a valid partnership agreement with Metsähallitus (Finnish Forest Administration). Through this agreement, we commit to following Metsähallitus’s principles of sustainable tourism in national parks, nature and historical sites, as well as World Heritage sites. According to the agreement, we are allowed to use Metsähallitus’s recreational infrastructure during our guided nature tours.
We strive to incorporate principles of sustainable development in all our activities. We primarily utilize existing hiking trails and the available recreational infrastructure. We advise our customers to travel to North Karelia using public transportation and to engage in low-emission mobility practices whenever possible. Our operations are guided by energy and material efficiency. We aim to recycle as much waste as possible. We always consider whether an item needs to be replaced or if we can extend its lifespan through maintenance and repair. The food products we use in our catering services are sourced as locally as possible from local producers.
